Silvia Sanasi

Silvia Sanasi is Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Management at the University of Bergamo.
She earned her Ph.D. with honors in 2022 from Politecnico di Milano, with a dissertation focused on business model experimentation in innovation and entrepreneurship processes. Her doctoral dissertation was selected as a finalist for the Outstanding Dissertation Award of the Strategic Management Division of the Academy of Management. Her work has been published in international journals such as Academy of Management Perspectives, the International Journal of Management Reviews, and Long Range Planning.
Her research lies at the intersection of strategy and organization theory, with a focus on innovation, new venture scaling, and future-making processes, with particular attention to how organizations interpret ambiguous signals, navigate tensions between present and future, and develop strategic directions for the future. She collaborates with firms and organizations on applied research projects related to innovation and strategic transformation.
She serves as Associate Editor for Creativity and Innovation Management, is a member of the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Product Innovation Management, and sits on the Board of Editors of Research-Technology Management. Since 2025, she has been Representative-at-Large for the Strategizing Activities and Practices Interest Group at the Academy of Management. She is also a member of the CYFE – Center for Young and Family Enterprise at the University of Bergamo.
She has held research and teaching positions at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), where she teaches Design Thinking and innovation. She was a visiting researcher at the Institute for Innovation Management and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich. She is currently a faculty member at the Graduate School of Management of Politecnico di Milano and teaches in academic and executive programs at several national and international universities.
